On April 16, 2026, San Luis Valley Great Outdoors (SLV GO!) hosted its annual Mountainfilm on Tour screening at The Church Project in Monte Vista, Colorado. Mountainfilm on Tour brings a curated selection of award-winning short films from the Telluride-based Mountainfilm Festival to communities across the country, and for SLV GO!, the evening doubles as the centerpiece of our yearly outdoor recreation fundraiser. This year’s screening drew a packed house of friends, family, and outdoor enthusiasts from across the San Luis Valley.
About Mountainfilm on Tour in the San Luis Valley
Mountainfilm on Tour is a traveling program of the Mountainfilm Festival, designed to share independent documentary filmmaking that celebrates adventure, environment, and the human spirit. SLV GO! has hosted the tour as a community fundraiser, with proceeds supporting our work to expand outdoor recreation access throughout the San Luis Valley — a region that includes Alamosa, Monte Vista, Del Norte, Saguache, Crestone, Creede, and many more small rural communities.
The event was made possible by Kristi Mountain Sports, who once again provided the projection equipment and screen that turned The Church Project into a true cinema for the night.

Our team curated six films chosen to reflect the diverse recreational interests of our valley audience — mountain biking, river running, and other stories of resilience and place:

Why This Event Matters to the San Luis Valley
