Custom Outdoor Experience: Freedom 250 Celebration
SLV GO! Embajadores partnered with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to expand programming for its 2026 Freedom 250 celebration at Baca National Wildlife Refuge. Embajadores facilitated public bird walks and a heritage tour of the refuge headquarters and historic outbuildings, connecting participants with the landscape and the ranching heritage of the former Baca Ranch.
The team also supported the celebration’s capstone event, a moderated panel exploring what it means to be human in a changing landscape. The conversation took visitors through the region’s environmental and human history—from the Pleistocene and Holocene eras and the loss of megafauna through precontact history and the Mexican and American colonial periods—creating a thoughtful conversation about how the Valley’s landscapes, wildlife and communities have changed over time.
